Banana Nut Bread

Great use for old bananas.

  • Mixing bowls
  • Working oven
  • 2 loaf pans
Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 4 eggs, beaten well
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 6 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 t salt
  • 2 t baking soda

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Grease pans well
  3. Cream sugar and shortening
  4. Add bananas and eggs
  5. Combine dry ingredients, sift, and add to mixture
  6. Add nuts
  7. Pour into greased loaf pans
  8. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes

Optional

Serve warm with butter.
